IMPOSSIBILITIES
Critics of early steam locomotives said it was impossible to travel faster than 40 MPH – you would take in air but you would not be able to exhale. And if trains accelerated to 50 MPH, parts of “female passengers” would fly out. The human body was not made to go faster than a horse. We know that is not true. There are bullet trains traveling at over 300 MPH.
WHAT ABOUT IMPOSSIBILITIES THAT ARE TRUE?
1. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD TO LIE.
“It is impossible for God to lie.” – Hebrews 6:18
2. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR A PERSON TRUSTING IN MONEY TO BE SAVED.
Then Jesus said to his disciples, "I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” - Matthew 19:23-24
3. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE GOD WITHOUT FAITH.
“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” - Hebrews 11:6
4. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR AN APOSTATE TO BE SAVED.
What is an apostate? A renouncer, a defector, a deserter.
“It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.” - Hebrews 6:4-6
5. BUT NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR YOU WHEN JESUS HAS AUTHORIZED IT.
Testimony of the Angel Gabriel: “For nothing is impossible with God." - Luke 1:37
Testimony of Jesus: "What is impossible with men is possible with God." - Luke 18:27
Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, "Why couldn't we drive it out?" He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” - Matthew 17:19-20
