WHO IS ASHAMED OF WHO?

Shame deals with embarrassment and humiliation. The opposite of being ashamed is being unapologetic or innocent. If you are ashamed of someone, you feel embarrassed to be connected with them.

A.     JESUS IS NOT ASHAMED OF THOSE IN HIS FAMILY LIVING HOLY LIVES.

Hebrews 2:11 - Both the one who makes men holy and those who are made holy are of the same family.  So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers.

B.     JESUS IS ASHAMED OF THOSE WHO LIVE CONTRARY TO HIS COMMANDS.

Luke 9:26 - If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.

THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE UNASHAMED

1.     NOT ASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL THAT DECLARES WE ARE SINNERS AND LOST, AND OFFERS SALVATION TO THOSE WHO ACCEPT.

Romans 1:16 - I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.

2.     NOT ASHAMED OF THE WAY I LIVE MY LIFE FOR CHRIST.

Philippians 1:20 - I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.

3.     NOT ASHAMED TO TALK ABOUT JESUS.

2 Timothy 1:8 - So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner.

4.     NOT ASHAMED OF SUFFERING FOR JESUS.

2 Timothy 1:12 - That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day.

1 Peter 4:16 - However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.

5.     NOT ASHAMED OF THE WAY I STUDY MY BIBLE.

2 Timothy 2:15 - Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
