BECAUSE OF THE RESURRECTION
1. JESUS IS SEATED IN THE PLACE HONOR IN HEAVEN. [1:18-21]
“…the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.”
2. YOU ARE INCLUDED IN CHRIST IN HEAVEN. [2:4-6]
“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”
Colossians 1:13 – “For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves.”
Acts 26:17-18 – “I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God.”
3. HEAVENLY STATUS GIVES YOU HEAVENLY POWER. [1:3]
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.”
4. THE CHURCH IS MAKING A STATEMENT IN HEAVEN. [3:10-11]
“…to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ; to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places.”
5. YOU ARE MAKING A STATEMENT ON THE BATTLEFIELD OF HEAVEN AND EARTH. [6:12]
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.“
You were kidnapped and brainwashed and made to think you are a citizen of the enemy’s territory. Jesus found you and showed you the enemy can not satisfy your heart. Your heart is in the homeland, Heaven. He keeps you here a little longer in enemy territory so when you come home you can bring as many with you as you can.
