Is the church of Christ a denomination?

- No.  The church of Christ is not part of a denomination or division of Christianity; it is Christianity.  We hare no earthly headquarters or governing body.  Christ is the head of the church and its headquarters is Heaven.

Can anyone be a part of the church of Christ?

 - Yes.  In fact, the church of Christ (which is His spiritual body, Colossians 1:18), is made up of all those who are saved worldwide.  Those who are saved are added to the church by the Lord (Acts 2:47) – and God wants everyone to be saved.  That's why Jesus died for us!

When was the church of Christ established?

 - While individual congregations have been established at different times and some may claim to have come from the workings of men (i.e., the “Restoration Movement”, etc.), the church of Christ as the Bible teaches it was established in about AD 33 just after the resurrection and ascension of Jesus from the Dead.  See Acts 1-2.  This is what we believe.

Can I study the Bible on my own and know what to do to go to heaven?

 - YES!  God wants all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth (I Timothy 2:4).  God’s word, the Bible, is truth (John 17:17).  And we can know the truth (John 8:32)!  God desires that we study and get to know His word (Matthew 5:6, II Timothy 2:15).
